AddThis & Tumblr Infinite Scroll

Using AddThis on an infinite scroll Tumblr page

For a while now, putting AddThis on an infinite scroll Tumblr meant that the first set of buttons would show up, but not ones that loaded later. But we’ve fixed that, and here’s how to do it.

First, install this script on your Tumblr theme along with the addthis_widget.js:

<script type="text/javascript" src="https://s7.addthis.com/downloads/ajax_help.min.js"></script>

Then, add this line after any inline buttons on your theme. For example, if you have this on your theme:

<div class="addthis_sharing_toolbox"></div>

You’ll change it to look like this:

<div class="addthis_sharing_toolbox"></div>
<script>if (typeof window.addthis_new_tool !== 'undefined') { window.addthis_new_tool(); }</script>

Or, if you have something like this on your theme:

<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style addthis_32x32_style">
    <a class="addthis_button_preferred_1"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_preferred_2"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_preferred_3"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_compact"></a>
    <a class="addthis_counter addthis_bubble_style"></a>
</div>

You’ll change it to look like this:

<div class="addthis_toolbox addthis_default_style addthis_32x32_style">
    <a class="addthis_button_preferred_1"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_preferred_2"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_preferred_3"></a>
    <a class="addthis_button_compact"></a>
    <a class="addthis_counter addthis_bubble_style"></a>
</div>
<script>if (typeof window.addthis_new_tool !== 'undefined') { window.addthis_new_tool(); }</script>

Once you save your theme with those changes you should be able to use your infinite scroll theme and have your inline buttons show up. If you have any questions please reach out to our support team
