Specifying the Image Posted to Pinterest

The new

data-media

property will let you specify the image that’s shown when sharing your content to Pinterest. This works great when you have a list of articles, or want to avoid showing a media selector before a user can share to Pinterest.

How to use it

Using the

data-media

attribute is pretty simple. Just add it to the inline sharing tool code along with the

data-title

and

data-url

attributes. For example:

When a user clicks the Pinterest button they’ll be shown this, regardless of the title, URL, and images on the current page:
