AddThis WordPress Plugin (drop-down version)
June 22nd, 2007 by dom1) Download it on your computer, and unzip it
2) Upload it into your wp-content/plugins directory
3) Log into your Wordpress blog, click on the ‘Plugins’ tab, and click ‘Activate’
Like the other plugin, this Plugin also supports Stats. If you want to get bookmarking statistics (e.g. top bookmarked posts over various time periods), open the .php file and set the ‘addthis_username’ variable to, well, your AddThis username.
Edit (2008-12-23):
We updated our plugin. You can download the new and improved version here:

Hi! Is there any way to translate it to Spanish?
Thanks!

Spanish: It’s just a PHP file. If you know Spanish already, just edit the English text strings in the file to Spanish. If you don’t, then have someone else do it, or as a last choice have Babelfish or some other online halfassed translator do it for you, string-by-string. Having a real human being do it will yield much more sensible results.
It would be great if there was a settings part of this plug in. I wanted to change the order of plug ins, just like the regular button.
Other than that, this is a great plug in.
Where is there a specific forum for this plugin?? I am trying to remove the button from my static pages (like contact me, home page, etc.) – I tried searching your main forum, but found nothing.
Is there any way to add the plugin to Wordpress.com blogs? Or are they restricted to wordpress.org only?
sweet,,,i was lookin for one like this one.
thanks for making it easy and free

Just upgraded to WP 2.7 and am trying to install upgraded version of the drop-down plugin. I’m getting the following parse error: “parse error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /home/content/w/a/h/wahmpr/html/microenterprisejournal/JournalBlog/wp-content/plugins/addthis/addthis_social_widget.php on line 35″
Help, please?
I am also getting the error Dawn mentioned, even with the newest version from 12/23/2008.

hello, the updated version does not have any drop-down… I think there is some problem with the old version too.
please check.
Rahul, thanks for the question. Within WordPress, if you go to Settings > AddThis, there will be a check box that says “Use Dropdown Menu.” Check that and you’ll be all set.
I use similar plugin with russian bookmarks, but without stats. Anybody knows plugin with stats and russian bookmarks?
There is an error with the Mister Wong link
AddThis WordPress Plugin is a very nice plugin. It does not take a lot of space.
A must have for a blog owner.

Heyo!
Where do I find the list for the short names that you use for the dropdown? I want to add Mr Wong to the dropdown links — how can I do this?
best
@devmag, here’s the list of services with their short names – http://addthis.com/help/destinations

This is a cool plugin and I use it on most of my own websites. I think it is a bit outdated now, especially now a number of sites are now no-follow. You’ve also missed off some sites that I think should be there like claimbookmarks.com. Thanks anyway
I think the plugin should work fine with MU, although I didn’t test since quite long. I’ll check with the upcoming 3.0 soon.
