Can this trend be different in 2011?

I guess emailing is still an essential part for the information sharing. Although Facebook and Twitter do offer improved sharing preferences, the traditional way of mailing is still preferred.

It would be especially interesting to see how bookmarking service Delicious performed. Particularly now, given the news that’s Yahoo! is discontinuing Deliicious, or selling it.

Very interesting to see the way social media is evolving. I know this view was designed to highlight ‘share this’ stats, but some other categories of interest to me (and maybe some of your other readers):
    - out of these numbers, how many are active? How many are duplicates? Aliases from the same user? How many are just set up to view/interact with porn? How many alias’s does the ‘average’ person have? Which alias are YOU hiding behind, while reading some words written by someone’s alias?

@Todayscyrano, Good questions. The last time I checked with our CTO, the number of people AddThis reaches is de-dupped according to our numbers.

You guys rock, I recommend addthis several times a week.

Just starting but it is a great tool, just so functional.

Takes the thinking out of sharing, then delivers useful insights to the user.

    Keep up the good work,

    Daniel

Thanks for sharing this valuable information, it gives our marketers a better understanding of social sharing and internet users’ behaviors as well as the usage of each social media channel.

Thank you for sharing these stats (the image is awesome!). I’m amazed that email is still such a popular sharing means particular that it’s bigger than Twitter sharing.

    Hi,

Will you also now be adding a ‘Share this on Google+’ button as well as the normal sharing sites?

  • http://www.clearspring.com Justin Thorp

@Richard, thanks so much for the comment. We’re not sure what Google’s plans are for sharing directly to Google+ but we do have the Google +1 button. – http://www.addthis.com/features/google-plus1-button
