We’ve said it before, but if you still doubt email marketing, don’t.
It’s still an effective way to drive conversions. In fact, a recent study showed that email marketing is nearly 40x more effective at acquiring customers than Facebook and Twitter combined. This is because 91% of all US consumers still use email daily.
With so many online businesses and content publishers vying for your email address, you need to be smart about how you ask visitors to subscribe.
AddThis marketing tools make it easier for site owners to get more signups by using data-driven personalization. Our tools are currently compatible with four email providers (if you don’t use any of these services, you can still use our tools to collect email addresses and export them as a CSV file):
- MailChimp: MailChimp is easy to use and has tons of features to help you analyze subscriber behavior. They also do a good job of educating their users on best practices.
- Aweber: Aweber has tons of templates, tools, and integrations to help you build your subscriber list. The also have robust analytics reporting.
- Mad Mimi: Mad Mimi allows you to create custom emails based on their well-designed themes, which gives you a good place to start for your campaigns.
- Campaign Monitor: Campaign monitor is another popular email marketing service with great email templates, user segmentation, and the option for pay-as-you-go plans.
With our marketing tools, you have more control over how and when you prompt visitors to sign up for your mailing list. You can also choose which audience segment you would like to target based on their interests (health, sports, technology, etc.), whether they’re a new visitor, returning visitor, coming from a social network, and more.
The timing of when you ask someone to subscribe also matters. For instance, you probably don’t want to ask them to subscribe right away if they’re landing on your site for the first time. With our tools, you can choose which website pages to display your message on. The Marketing Overlay also allows for advanced options, such as showing your message after a certain number of page views or on exit. This way you don’t disturb a user during the middle of their visit.
When a visitor signs up, their information will automatically be added to your email subscriber list, which saves you the work of adding it manually. Then, of course, after you get them to sign up, you have to make sure they stay subscribed! Don’t worry, we can help with that, too.
