Everybody Loves Louie, Ladies Who Make Us Laugh and Edwardian Era Aristocrats

We’ve been hacking our hearts out today at AddThis, but let’s take a break from regularly scheduled programming to talk about the Emmy nomination ceremony that took place this morning and how Jimmy Kimmel showed up in his pajamas. Gotta love him!

ET Online had behind the scenes coverage, including some stats about the nominees and how people were reacting to the announcements across the AddThis network. And what do ya know, we’ve got even more details!

  • Fictional history, an ancient fantasy land and art trying to imitate real-life: Downton Abbey, Game of Thrones and Homeland saw the most activity through our network for their Drama Series nominations. It’s entertainment for everyone!

  • Across the board for all shows, Downton Abbey seemed to generate the most consistent buzz with 3 cast members being nominated in drama categories. AARP tweeted our sentiments best: “How we imagine Dame Maggie Smith hearing about her #Emmy nom… http://ow.ly/cm1qQ” But really, everybody just loves some fancy English accents.
  • Louis CK was getting a LOT of love with an 800% increase in interest with his Best Actor in a Comedy Series nomination for Louie! He also was nominated for six other awards. It’s not just the man’s hair that’s on fi-ya!
  • Other notable mentions for activity were Modern Family for its Best Comedy Series nomination and a slew of funny ladies including Julia Louis Dreyfus in Veep (who has tied Lucille Ball for most comedic actress Emmy nominations!), Lena Dunham for Girls (she also got directing and writing nods), Amy Poehler in Parks and Rec, and Zooey Deschanel in New Girl.
